Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -


Providing guidance and procedures for operations and maintenance of computing systems (hardware, software and networks) and data communication systems;
Preparing and monitoring of maintenance procedures;
Coding/writing and testing computer programs;
Implementation of information systems;
Performing technical and systems documentation;
Planning, designing and implementing the Institute corporate databases;
Performing database backups, monitoring, tuning and data recovery procedures;
Ensuring database security and assisting Computer Programmers with database issues;
Controlling and monitoring database usage; and
Development and maintenance of the Institute website.


For appointment to this grade an officer must have: -


Served for a cumulative period of eight (8) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which must have been in the grade of Information Communication Technology Officer I or in a comparable position;
Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: - Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
A Master’s degree in the relevant field will be an added advantage;
Strong knowledge of ERP software, including relevant certification (Eg. Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant Associate);
Proficiency in SQL, database management and programming languages relevant to ERP Customization;
Knowledge of data protection laws is an added advantage.
