Description

Fish farm managers run one or more fish farms where fish are raised in ponds and tanks.

Responsibilities

Calculate the feeding regime, monitor the health of the fish, and treat them when appropriate.
Managing breeding and harvesting schedules
Making sure hygiene standards are high, to prevent disease
Checking that the water quality and oxygen levels are right for the fish
Keeping records of the numbers and sizes of fish stocked
Plan breeding programs and grow schedules to obtain maximum efficiency.
Pay close attention to detail, in order to avoid expensive fish losses in what can be a high-risk industry.
Possess stock skills such as fish handling, spawning, grading, and harvesting.
Update knowledge of fish health and nutrition.
Maintain records of stocks and arranging for stock to be sold
Be organized, have good communication and interpersonal skill
Have the ability to multitask.

Requirements

B.Sc. or HND in Fishery.
Have at least 5 years of experience working in a fish farm
