Main Duties

 Provision of a consultative service for paediatric patients under other units or departments
 Ensure supervision for junior medical officers and to provide support for the senior medical staff in the care of the Unit/Department’s patients
 Review and manage referred paediatric patients at A & E
 In liaison with the Consultants, conduct ward rounds and review all paediatric in-patients at the wards, ICU, General Nursery and Special Care Unit
 Facilitate the timely admission and discharge of all patients in accordance with hospital policy
 Review all investigation results in a timely manner, and to ensure all paediatric prescribing is undertaken with utmost care
 Regular attendance both in-hours and out-of-hours according to manning charts or rosters
 Assist management in drawing up and implementing policies and procedures for the Unit
 Ensure that patients/families are given adequate information upon which to base treatment decisions and follow-up
 Participation in the relevant department/unit quality activities program(s) as requested by the Units/Departments
 Be responsive to patient and relatives’ complaints, liaising with appropriate senior staff and the patient advocate
 Participate in the management of patients in the Well Baby Clinic
 Participate in Cardiac Camps, when necessary

Required Qualifications for the Position

 Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery
 MMed. in Paediatrics
