Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Hospital Engineer is responsible for ensuring continuous service and repairs of plant equipment to attain optimal availability and performance. Main Duties

 Provide leadership and guidance to all staff in the Maintenance Department
 Carrying out preventive maintenance and repairs to steam boilers, generating sets, air compressors, lifts, steam systems, and air condition systems
 Carrying out preventive maintenance in electrical distribution systems and plant equipment
 Ensuring all mechanical and electrical operations within the Hospital run optimally
 Developing and implementing planned preventive maintenance programs
 Ensuring regular inspection of plant equipment
 Monitoring utility supplies and ensuring uninterrupted provision to the Hospital
 Developing a Bill of Quantities for works and services required in the Hospital
 Participating in re-call to work service and attending to emergency breakdowns
 Participating in refurbishment committees and overseeing completion of the projects
 Work scheduling and execution for staff and self
 Supervising of staff
 Technical cost containment
 Liaising with external contractors working in the Hospital
 Supervising, handling, and in charge of any works relating to: -

- Refrigeration and air conditioning
- Water supply and reticulation systems
- Laundry equipment
- Catering equipment
- Fire equipment


 Any other duty as may be assigned from time to time

Required Qualifications for the Position

 Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Production/ Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution

Main Duties
