FSL Officer
Community Health Justice and Peace Initiative for Development-JDPH desire to recruit the services of Food Security and Livelihood Officer who will work under the supervision of the FSL Manager. The FSL Officer will be responsible for the implementation of all agricultural programs to our target beneficiaries in Fune and Fika LGAs of Yobe State.
Contract Duration: One Year
Key Responsibilities

Establish and maintain good relations with key stakeholders and communities in the area of intervention to know their perceptions of the operations and to understand the needs, complaints, and major events that may have an impact on the activities of JDPH


Participate in the identification, registration, verification and selection of the project beneficiaries, according to defined selection criteria, as well as verification processes, in collaboration with community stakeholders’
Responsible for planning and implementing the FSL project activities in the field, including IGAs, VSLAs, Livestock recapitalization, Production and use of briquettes, production of organic manure, Basic Needs Assistance and Agricultural input support etc.
Participate in identifying the training needs among the population and propose appropriate contents and training support material for the training sessions and awareness messages to be disseminated
Participate in periodic FSL assessments including needs assessment, market assessments, activity feasibility assessments and any other Food Security and livelihood-related assessments.
Report to the FSL Manager
Carry out any duties as assigned by the FSL Manager.

The FSL Officer will need to poses the following qualifications / skills & experiences;
Personal Abilities:

Fluency in English, Hausa (both written and spoken)
Personal qualities: reliable, honest, very good organization, resistance to stress, work under tight deadlines
Good report writing is an added advantage


Professional experience of 2 to 5 years in similar position

Qualification

University Degree in Agriculture, Food Security or any related field


Experience on cash and voucher assistance (paper or electronic voucher)
Experience on VSLA methodology and monitoring IGA activities
Experience on the production of briquettes
Experience on the production of organic manure and food preservation
A strong team player and high degree of flexibility
Good communicator, highly organized with strong writing skills.
Fluency in Hausa and English languages
