Community Health Justice and Peace Initiative for Development -JDPH desires the services of a qualified person who has knowledge on Conflict and Peace Building to serve as its Conflict and Peace Building Officer.

Responsibilities


Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop and implement peace-building initiatives and activities in line with... project objectives.
Facilitate community dialogues, workshops, and trainings on conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and reconciliation.
Support the development and implementation of local peace-building strategies, considering the cultural and social context of the target communities.
Provide guidance and support to local community leaders, civil society organizations, and volunteers engaged in peace-building activities. 
Conduct regular field visits to project sites and engage directly with community members to understand their needs, perspectives, and concerns.
Foster a sense of ownership and participation among community members by promoting inclusive decision-making processes.
Organize and facilitate community meetings and forums to encourage open dialogue, conflict resolution, and mutual understanding.


Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in peace and conflict studies, international relations, development studies, or a related field. 
Proven (4 years) working experience in peacebuilding, conflict resolution, or related fields.
Strong knowledge of peace-building concepts, conflict analysis frameworks, and approaches to reconciliation.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in challenging and sensitive environments.
Fluency in written and spoken English.

Community Health Justice and Peace Initiative for Development – JDPH requires the services of a Food Security and Livelihood (FSL) Assistant who will work under the direct supervision of the FSL Officer.

The Food Security and Livelihood Assistant will be required to travel to communities in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states throughout the duration of the project.

Responsibilities


Establish and maintain good relations with key stakeholders and communities in the areas of Food Security and Livelihood to know their perceptions and to understand the needs, complaints, and major events that may have an impact on the activities of JDPH under the strict supervision of the FSL Officer
Assist in the identification, registration, verification and selection of project beneficiaries according to defined selection criteria, as well as verification processes, in collaboration with community stakeholders’
 Assist the FSL Officer to conduct food security activities in the field (input distribution, training,  etc.)
Assist in the document field achievements, innovations, failures, and lessons learned to integrate into project activities and inform project strategy.
Assist the FSL Officer in implementing the FSL project activities in the field, including IGAs, VSLAs, Livestock recapitalization, Production and use of briquettes, production of organic manure, Basic Needs Assistance and Agricultural input support etc.
Assist in identifying the training needs among the population and propose appropriate contents and training support material for the training sessions and awareness messages to be disseminated.
Assist the FSL Officer in periodic FSL assessments including needs assessment, market assessments, activity feasibility assessments and any other Food Security and livelihood-related assessments.


QUALIFICATIONS


Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agronomy, food security, humanitarian action or any related field. 


EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS


 Minimum two (3) years of experience in a relevant position and experiences within (I) NGOs under food security and livelihood programming.
Knowledge in Food Security and livelihood, vegetable gardening, and skills development.
Ability for identifying, designing a project and budgeting

Responsibilities


Identify, from the global, regional and national good practices, livelihood adaptation measures that can be introduced through the project.
Participate in consultations with stakeholders.
Build the capacity of the FSL team 
Identify geographical areas of interest to the organization according to humanitarian needs and vulnerable population context.
Research on innovative interventions to fight hunger.
Ensure monitoring of food security and livelihood projects (field visit, regular programme monitoring, budget forecast, staff evaluation and planning, donors reports, monthly reports, etc.).
Ensure the preparation and writing of food security and livelihood proposals and donor reports (log frame, narrative, budget) together with the FSL team and in link with the Grant Manager.
Support the organization in facilitation of training sessions for technical teams and assisted communities.
Supervise and evaluate the Food security and livelihoods programme officers and subordinates.
Closely coordinate and collaborate with other technical departments (nutrition, water and sanitation) and support departments.
Liaising with donors, authorities, research institutes, partner organizations, NGOs, government bodies, and clusters at sub-regional/country level.

Demonstrated MEAL experience in project technical areas; food security and agriculture, livelihoods/ resilience building, market systems. 
Strong experience and knowledge of different donor M&E guidelines, systems, and reporting requirements.
Strong data, writing skills, and ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences.

The Procurement Officer (PO) will be responsible for planning and implementing project procurement activities (under the relevant parts of the project) and ensuring that all such procurement activities are carried out in accordance with the Financing Agreement and the JDPH Procurement Policy.

Roles and Responsibilities 


Ensuring that goods, works and services are procured in accordance... with the JDPH procurement policy,
Carrying out surveys of the market (prices) in relation to procurement policy and preparing performance reports;
Preparing and maintaining the procurement plan of the JDPH, acquiring approvals of relevant authorities in a timely manner and supervising the implementation of such plans; 
Based on the Financing Agreement, and in collaboration with technical teams, developing, revising and maintaining an up-to-date status of the procurement plan; and submitting revisions to the Management for review and acceptance on a regular basis and as requested by the Management;
Preparing General Procurement Notices and other necessary notifications; 
Establishing and maintaining the data base of letters of interest received from suppliers of goods and services;
Notifying winning firms in a timely manner, drawing up contracts for approval and ensuring submission to the JDPH management for review; 
Facilitating the appropriate distribution of goods procured, the installation and use of equipment and other goods procured, and the maintenance of an inventory of such equipment; 
Ensuring that all equipment and other goods and services procured under the project meet the conditions of contracts before payment is made; 
Ensuring that procurement tracking information is well-coordinated with other project planning, budgeting and other financial reporting information;
Assisting the Project Implementation Unit in maintaining proper documentation flow throughout the project duration;
Preparing the procurement part of the quarterly progress reports;
 Performing any other tasks as reasonably assigned by the Project Coordinator.
