  • This is usually a problem with most workaholic employees, working super hard for companies and thinking that companies owe them. If you feel like... you're being undervalued there, start looking elsewhere. Also stop comparing your earnings with earnings of other people in the company, it'll just cause you useless stress. Good luck. more

  • You raise multiple issues in your description of your situation. That aside, perhaps you can clarify the meaning of "almost 3 years since I have... grown in this company." What is your measure of "growth"? Do you mean it's been almost three years since you received a promotion or a raise? Do you mean it's been almost three years since you developed new competencies or acquired new skills?

What is the corporate context? Has your employer adopted a performance management system? Does it conduct annual or semi-annual performance reviews?

If so, it's the "natural" context for discussing the matter of your "growth and development". This is because it's the one supervisor-employee conversation that puts corporate goals and objectives, employee performance, wins, losses and emerging corporate needs and requirements all on the table.

In the absence of a uniformly-applied performance management system, evaluations of employee performance/contribution can be haphazard and subjective and leave both employee and supervisor without common reference points.

Minimum Wage is all the law requires, and that varies from state to state. If you are not earning that then you should discuss with your manager and... HR. Also, you can file a complaint with the US department of Labor. Next, understand that people will always hire people they like and can trust over those that are qualified for the job in many cases. I would maintain a positive attitude and look for other opportunities outside or inside (different department) current organization. more

  • You give thanks to God that you're even lucky that you're working and getting a salary, please!!!

  • If you are as good and qualified and you put it here, then stop showing any signs of desparation in wanting to be promoted so much, desparation give... low self esteem and lack of confidence. Work and walk as if you own job or the company, if you still dont feel appreciated, walk away for better opportunities with your head held high. Thats the best you can do.
Should you feel the need to air your grievances to your Boss, be selective with your words and avoid anything which makes you look desparate or sympathetic.... they will not take you serious... speak up based on facts and straight to the point, negatiate in a way which comands respect. You will surely be considered, if not, just walk away.

  • Be grateful with what you have and avoid being envious of others. Keep searching for other jobs if you feel unappreciated but bearing in mind that... there are others who do not have what you have. There are a lot of people who dealing with stagnation of a greater nature than yours. Do not ruin what you have. As Stephen Mhlanga has suggested, speak out but be professional about it and if you are not heard, don't jeopardise your relationship with your employers but simply look for work elsewhere. Remember that you may need their references. All the best. more
