I agree with others, who advise you NOT to quit. The current economic climate does not incentivize employers to hire for tax breaks. Hence hiring is... scare for upper level positions. Volunteering is KEY because if a company determines that your work ethic without a salary makes one take notice, they will find a way to hire you. more

Hi there- given the current changes in this new big ugly federal bill.. I would hold off on voluntary unemployment as it will impact your ability to... have healthcare and food supports during this transitional period. Perhaps see if your organization will be flexible with remote days if you explain that you can apply these skills to the current organization in an advanced role. Look for advocates via informational interviews with leaders in the area you would like to work. See if they are willing to support apprenticeships (earn as you learn) or have other opportunities to move into the field without income loss. Wishing you luck! I'm a graduate with Bachelor degree in Agricultural science but since I graduated, I haven't done a lot in my field besides the 2 years I spent with... an international NGO which was less of practicals. Since 2019, I've been part timer as a Research Assistant with multiple research firms but trust me it has never been easy with Mr. Trump's saga on USAID; gigs have become scanty and as of now, I'm designing a produce business plan to manage the current situation because I've just realised however broke Ugandans are, they never sleep hungry 😅 more

I think Celestine is right, I am in a similar situation like you as an doing something different from my field of study. But all I can say is this. If... possible start volunteering in data analysis roles to build more on your resume through projects that may not pay you or pay less. Then even better opportunities will come. Coz I understand to get a remote role might even be harder than normal job roles.
Your projects will I turn land you a role in data analysis coz am sure you can't put the projects in the law firm as sample projects to land that remote work.  more
