Job Requirement


Served in the grade of Senior Development Officer for a minimum period of three (3)years
Bachelor Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Regional Planning, Urban Planning, Architecture Construction Management, Building, Civil Engineering, Cartography, Geo-informatics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from a recognized institution;
Certificate in Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
Certificate in Computer applications skills from a recognized institution;
Associate membership of Kenya Institute of Planners (KIP) or Architectural Association of Kenya (Town Planning Chapter);
Demonstrate managerial, administrative and technical competence in the execution of Physical Planning Assistants function.


Job Description


Ensuring plan drawing adheres to set standards and regulations;
Coordinating the drawing of National, Regional, County, Metropolitan, strategic national projects/programmes and local physical development plans;
Identifying sources of physical planning data;
Assigning centre reference and approved plan numbers;
Distributing approved plans to relevant authorities;
Authenticating physical development plans;
Preparing annual state of physical development plans reports;
Undertaking monitoring and evaluation of drawing activities at National and County levels;
Mentoring Physical Planning Assistants; and planning, reviewing and evaluating performance of Development Control Assistants.
Administering the Drain Layers and Plumbers Examinations
Any other duties as may be assigned to him/her by the Deputy Director or Director
