Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding career progression after working as a programmer and QA. I am thinking about the next steps: is it better to focus on becoming a Scrum Master or a Project Manager? I’m curious about the opportunities for further growth in these roles and the situation regarding gaining new knowledge and skills, either through volunteering or remote work.

It would be helpful to hear the experiences of others in the group who have gone through a similar path or have advice related to these careers. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

    Both Scrum Master and Project Manager roles offer strong career paths, but they differ in focus:
    • Scrum Master: Best if you enjoy coaching teams,... facilitating Agile processes, and improving collaboration. Growth opportunities include Agile Coach, Enterprise Agile Leader, or roles in organizational transformation.
    • Project Manager: More suitable if you prefer planning, budgeting, and overseeing the entire project lifecycle. Growth paths include Program Manager, Portfolio Manager, or higher leadership roles.

    For skill development, consider:
    • Certifications: CSM (Certified Scrum Master) for Scrum Master, PMP (Project Management Professional) for Project Manager.
