Hi everyone! I'm looking for a job now, so I made a good resume and prepared well for interviews. I read articles about how to act and what to say during interviews.
Yesterday at an interview I asked the employer what they could tell me about the job that wasn't in the job ad. I also asked if it's possible to get promoted in that role and what I would need to do.
After that the interview ended quickly and I felt they wouldn't hire me.
Was it wrong to ask those questions? They were in the tips I read for job seekers.

  • Your question was fine. Build a large network, most job offers come through or because of that

  • As an outsider looking in, I noticed that you are already trying to move out of the position that they are hiring for. Maybe focus less on getting... promoted & more on the position available.  more

  • Being open in interviews is tye best i did for myself. It shows how committed you are to that job, however align your openess to the job in the room.

  • It's not bad to ask questions in an interview but let the questions be relevant to the position you are being interviewed for.In your case, I feel it... was awkward to ask a question on position you were not being interviewed for.If it's a promotion,let it be in line with your skills and position you are being interviewed for.Otherwise, keep applying for jobs.Your job is around the corner. more

  • I have applied for 1000 jobs in the last 5 years. I've been to probably 10 interviews, and I realized that the experience and qualification on... theresume is only 50% of getting the job. Whethwr the interviewer likes your face or look is the other 50%. I'm Asian and over 50 yo. So I know this to be true. more
