Duties and Responsibilities

An officer at this level will be responsible for:

Undertaking building maintenance works;
Preparation of specifications and contract documents for minor works;
Inspection and valuation of houses; and
Carry out such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

For appointment to this grade, an Officer must:

Have Higher National Diploma in Civil & Structural Engineering, Architecture, Building Economics, fiscal Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
Have a Certificate in relevant computer applications;
Be conversant with current relevant building by-laws;
Have valid Electrician License by the Energy Regulatory Commission;
Have served in the grade of Assistant Maintenance (Building/Electrical) or in a comparable and relevant position for at least three (3) years; and
Have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Degree in the relevant field will be an added advantage.
