Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -


Organizing and retrieving library books, publications, circulations and other related information;
Issuing publications/reading and research resources to Library users;
Sending reminder notices for overdue publications;
Updating the catalogue and shelving new and returned books, publications and other materials; and
Assisting users on cataloguing and retrieving information from the library.


For appointment to this grade an officer must have: -


At least six (6) years relevant work experience;
Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: - Library and Information Studies, Information Sciences, Knowledge Management, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
Proficiency in library-specific computer applications such as KOHA (Integrated Library System), DSpace (Institutional Repository), OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue), and other digital library databases and cataloging tools; and
Knowledge of data protection laws is an added advantage.
