  • My answer is simple: I am in employment primarily to generate income, so I would choose the higher-paying offer. In my experience, work-life balance... is not something an employer gives you. It comes from being intentional about your priorities, setting boundaries, and managing your time effectively. Managers change. Teams change. Organizational cultures change. The one thing that remains within my control is how I manage my life outside of work.

Therefore, if two opportunities are otherwise comparable and one pays 20% more, I will take the higher-paying role and create my own work-life balance.
