Duties and Responsibilities


Develop and review the procurement and asset disposal plans in line with the law, manage their implementation by user departments, and advise/report on adherence to the plan.
Lead in reviewing and updating the Supply Chain Policy and Procedures Manual.
Oversee and maintain an updated and approved list of the Corporation’s registered suppliers.
Prepare reports required in relation to the procurement of goods, works, and services, as well as contract management.
Develop the procurement strategy and reporting in line with policies, processes, and procedures.
Develop various supply chain plans, including risk management and contractor performance measurement plans, to increase efficiencies.
Provide Secretariat services for the tender evaluation and other Committees in line with the Procurement and Disposal Act.
Prepare statutory and other administrative reports as per guidelines.
Coordinate the preparation of contract documents and purchase orders.
Resolve procurement issues with suppliers, contractors, and consultants; develop capacity-building programs within the Corporation to ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
Serve as the custodian of the Corporation’s Procurement Plan.


Requirements for the Job


Master’s Degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supplies Management, Procurement and Logistics, Commerce, Business Administration (Supplies Management Option), Economics, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant work experience, with at least five (5) years in a Senior Management position.
Full membership to a professional body, either KISM or CIPS, and in good standing.
Certified Supplies Practitioner by KISM.
Undertaken a management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
