Duties and Responsibilities
An officer at this level will be responsible for:

Involving in control and supervision of buildings under construction or specialized work of running a repair and maintenance works;
Assisting in planning a building programme;
Ensuring that construction work in progress is in accordance with the specifications of the drawings by architects and engineers; and
Monitoring work progress as per schedule in addition to estimating costs.

For appointment to this grade, an officer must:-

Have Diploma in Building and Civil Engineering awarded by Kenya National Examination Council, or equivalent qualifications recognized by KNEC;
Have served in the relevant field in the Scale 5/6 (V/VI) for at least three (3) years;
Have competency in computer applications particularly in Architectural and Civil/Structural- Engineering packages; and
Have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
