Roles and Responsibilities


Manage daily room status updates via Opera (departures, arrivals, early check-ins)
Review evening reports and lead team briefings
Allocate rooms and tasks to stewards based on occupancy
Enforce DND policy; ensure VIP/show rooms are ready by 10:00 AM
Generate and reconcile room discrepancy reports
Supervise staff attendance, grooming, and shift readiness
Monitor cleaning supply inventory and equipment usage/maintenance
Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas
Ensure cleanliness and safety standards are consistently met
Conduct performance appraisals and identify training needs
Manage staff motivation, discipline, and recognition
Participate in stock-taking and reporting
Uphold Taita Hills & Salt Lick's core values, standards, and safety policies
Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper


Qualification and Experience


A diploma or higher in Housekeeping or Hospitality Management
At least 3 years of experience as an assistant housekeeper, ideally in a luxury hotel or lodge
Proficient in Opera PMS and MS Office applications
Exceptional organizational and leadership abilities with a keen attention to detail
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated capability to manage and inspire teams
High standards of integrity and professionalism
Strong skills in planning, time management, and reporting
A genuine passion for guest service and team development
