Hi!

I work as an Executive Assistant and since January, I have applied to countless of jobs. I have only received 4 job interviews. This has never happened in my prior job searches. I’m currently working with recruiters and they are barely sending me anything and they think my resume is fine. Is it the current economy, is it actually my resume, or something else?

Thank you!

  • Majority of my work has also been as an Executive Assistant, mainly in the small business/entrepreneur sector. over the last 2 years I've been... applying to various position for both small businesses, start-ups, and corporations and haven't seen any progress. My other friends who work in this category of work have also had some issues, so there's definitely something going on with the market. Maybe companies don't want to pay for the more experienced assistants, want someone who can be on-site instead of remote or hybrid, or the job posting is a ghost posting where the company isn't really hiring but still posts as if they are. No matter what, don't give up!  more

  • Can you reach out to me… I would love to give more in-depth guidance

  • Hi Victoria,
Have you sent a cover letter stating your qualifications for the position? It should include three key aspects:
1 Mention tasks from the... job description along with a few examples of how you have done that.
    2. How your experience will accomplish what they need.
    3. A request for an interview including contact information.
Every cover letter, like your resume, will highlight the prime job requirements that the company needs.
Try that, and let us know how it goes. I expect it will go much better.
