Project Objectives
We aim to ensure girls enjoy the right to education by enabling continuity of learning during their stay at the shelter and even after reintegration back into their community.
We are convinced that by providing an environment of acceptance and care accompanied by the guidance of a professional team, this aim can be reached, believing in every child’s dignity and right to a... healthy and self-determined future.
Objectives of the Assignment:

Develop lesson plans, lesson notes, timetables and other training materials.
Provide lists of needed learning materials to the shelter manager
Conduct assessment for the girls at the onset of learning, mid-way and at the end of the contract period.
Train the beneficiaries on various subjects in line with the education curriculum.
Develop a final assessment report for each girl.

Approach_The assignment will be delivered as follows:

Consultative meeting with the Shelter Manager
Provision of learning/teaching sessions in the agreed frequency and timeframe
Ensure records are kept properly and that the principle of confidentiality is adhered to.
Provide monthly assessment reports.

Duration of the Assignment
The assignment will be on a need basis and is to be completed within the agreed time period from the day of Agreement signing between HAART Kenya and the awarded Consultant. The applicant needs to provide a schedule of how to deliver the assignment.
Essential Criteria and Qualifications:

At least a Bachelor’s Degree in education (with at least two teaching subjects out of the following: English, Kiswahili, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Geography and Business studies) and must be registered with TSC.
At least three (3) years of relevant experience in a similar position.
Must possess good teaching/training skills.
Computer skills are necessary, especially in the Office Suite.
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build harmonious relationships with beneficiaries from different cultural backgrounds.
Have knowledge of working with youth and vulnerable groups.
Must be in possession of certificate of good conduct
High-level written and oral communications skills in English and Kiswahili.
Evidence of having undertaken a similar assignment is an added advantage
Availability & flexibility to provide required services on a needs basis.

KeyResponsibilitiesand Duties:
Human Resource

People Manager of the organization. Develop, review and implement all HR management tools through the employee lifecycle from recruitment to offboarding.
Drive employee engagement initiatives including regular surveys.
Plan and coordinate recruitment processes.
Ensure proper onboarding of all staff in the organization.
Develop training... schedules and ensure capacity building across the organization. opportunities for internal external capacity building. appraisals
Manage HAART staff leave records and ensure that leave requests are submitted and filed.
Ensure proper management of payroll and administration of staff benefits and allowances.
Ensure all staff statutory deductions are submitted promptly.
Manage, with the SMT support disciplinary and grievances handling process.
Administer the performance system for HAART.
Ensure proper records management including management of staff files.
Manage all related HR communications especially the HR email account.
Review and enhance internal HR manuals and policies.
Ensure safety and security requirements as per Kenyan law and HAART policies are implemented.
Ensure compliance to the Kenyan Labor Law.

Administration:

Supervise proper management of organizational assets and office maintenance.
In charge of / supervise all administrative aspects of the organization.
Ensure travel management is being processed in alignment with procurement.
Supervise proper stock keeping management.

Financial reporting and budgeting

Oversight of the overall process of financial transactions
Coordinate, monitor and review regular internal organizational budget development and expenditures as well as external donor budgets In line with policies and guidelines.
Ensure timely provision of accurate monthly financial reports, both internally for the management as well as externally for the donors requirements.
Supervise the financial team in making payments, bank reconciliation process and petty cash management.
Implement the recommendations from internal and external auditors.
Ensure strict adherence to HAART procurement guidelines.

Being member of SMT

Supervise and lead the Finance Team
Participate in SMT’s meetings, deliberations and decision making
Represent the organization on different forums

Essential criteria & qualification:

University degree in HR, or related field.
Be a member of IHRM/ pursuing CHRP-K
At least 3 years’ experience with similar responsibilities.
Fluency in English and Kiswahili (both oral and written).
Strong computer skills and experience working with accounting software.
Experience liaising with a range of stakeholders regarding financial and administrative issues.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and to take initiative.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Honest, meticulous, responsible and well organized.
Strong work ethic and commitment to financial accountability and transparency.
Finance knowledge (for example CPA (2) or equivalent) is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
Protection

Coordinate the Legal component of the Protection of victims and survivors.
Prepare the victims for court session(s) in collaboration with the psychologists and the Protection team.
Support Survivors in their participation in the criminal justice process (including pre and post-trial stage).
Manage pro bono advocate databases and coordinate their... services for Victims of Trafficking receiving support from HAART.
Coordinate civil suit for survivors of human trafficking seeking compensation/restitution from traffickers.
Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues.
Facilitate in acquiring legal documents for survivors, e.g., repatriation orders, travel documents,etc.

Advocacy

Aid research department in conducting research on legal issues related to human trafficking.
Train first responders and other key groups on the counter trafficking legal framework.
Coordinate the training of HAART staff on the counter trafficking legal frameworks.
Coordinate the collaboration with all government institutions on counter trafficking policies.
Coordinate Legal and human rights awareness and education to HAART beneficiaries with integration of the knowledge into community outreach activities.
Represent HAART in Collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure that the criminal justice framework protects the survivors that we serve.
Support civil remedies available to victims of human trafficking and the nature of suits which can be instituted.

Program Management

Participate in Protection work and report writing.
Participate in various team meetings.
Support HAART in legal matters and collaborate and support the fundraising officer in proposal writing as well as participating in reporting to various donors.
Develop a registry system and continuously update it

Essential criteria & qualification

Education: Diploma in law, legal or and paralegal studies.
Job experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.

KeyResponsibilities and Duties:

Plan and implement awareness workshops at the grassroot level across the country.
Maintain and coordinate the planning of workshops with community mobilizers and external facilitators.
Ensure proper documentation of community outreach activities including photography and reporting based on donor... guidelines.
Collection of Pre and Post test evaluation in required awareness workshops.
Planning and coordinating Child Safeguarding Club activities .
Planning and coordinating Youth group Activities (Young@HAART ).
Development of impact stories from beneficiaries.
Collecting potential victims cases of human trafficking during outreach activities and referring them to the Protection team.
Contribute to budget planning and ensure all expenses of the activities sessions are in line with the departmental/donor budget and comply with the financial guidelines..
Enable and contribute to cross departmental collaboration, information sharing, interaction and support
Managing all interactions that come through the helpline in line with HAART policies and ensure accurate and timely data collection and referral to the Protection team.
Representation of HAART Kenya at external conferences, meetings and focus group discussions related to the human trafficking sector.

Education: Diploma in Humanities and Social Science Social Work, or a related field.
At least 1 year working experience in social work
Proven experience in community engagements. Facilitation of workshops is an added advantage.

Supporting the residents in their recovering process and personal development by applying HAART’s shelter guidelines

Case Management in line HAARTs policies, documentation and reporting of the dedicated cases

Cooperation with therapists, doctors, lawyers, educational institutions and other service providers
