Job Purpose

Key Responsibilities


Advising on matters relating to Commission’s fleet including major repairs and carrying out minor repairs on Commissions fleet.
Facilitate the transfer of Commission staff to field activities on time and in a safe and reliable manner.
Pick and drop official Commission visitors and staff, to and from airport and take them to their required destination.
Inform the Administration Officer of due motor vehicle insurance and mechanical service of all Commission vehicles.
Ensure the cleanliness of the Commission vehicle at all times, carry out routine basic service check before use of the vehicle and report any defects to the Administration Officer

At least 5 year’s proven experience in conducting actual trainings and public awareness on human rights, human rights education or any other relevant field
At least 5 years’ experience in the development of Information Education and Communication materials for dissemination through electronic, print or social media platforms
At least three years’ experience in a leadership/supervisory role
Served in the grade of Senior Public Education and Training Officer for a minimum period of three (3) years
Certificate in Senior Management Course lasting not less than 4 weeks from Kenya School of Government or its equivalent.

Job purpose
This position is responsible for the provision of tea and refreshments to commissioners and members of staff as well as maintaining clean and organized office premises daily. 
Responsibilities

Prepare and serve tea on a timely basis to all commissioners and staff and during meetings held within the commission.
Responsible for setting up sitting arrangement as per meeting requests... and ensure cleanliness of the meeting room prior to its use.
Supervise the contracted cleaning staff, observe the cleaning of the office and ensure access to locked offices for supervised cleaning to be done.
Assist in that security measures are put in place by closing all the windows in all offices and boardrooms and shut the main doors after hours of operation.
Assist in the preparation of the kitchen budgets and purchases.
Assist in the Human Resources administrative inputs in the grants management system.
Attend to any other applicable duties as assigned.

Requirements for Appointment

Certificate in Food and Beverages or related field or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
One (1) year similar experience in a comparable position from a reputable organization.

THE ASSIGNMENT
The model guidelines will be used to guide the setting up of operational grievance handling mechanisms of the different businesses.      
The Consultant’s duties and responsibilities will include:

Development of an inception report indicating an understanding of the assignment, a proposed road map/work plan for execution of the assignment including methodology and... timelines.
Carry out extensive desktop and field research to identify existing grievance handling mechanisms.
Conduct stakeholder consultations in the process of developing the model guidelines.
Guided by the findings, develop Draft Model Guidelines for Operational Level Grievance Mechanisms for the business sector.
Facilitate validation of the draft Model Guidelines with stakeholders and incorporate relevant feedback into the Draft Model Guidelines.
Refine and submit final Model Guidelines for Operational Level Grievance Mechanisms for the business sector.
Any other task(s) related to fulfilling the objectives of the assignment.

DURATION
The consultancy will run for a period of 45 days from 15th January 2023 to 31st March 2023.
Job Requirements
The consultant(s) should have the following skills, qualifications and experiences:
Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Political Science, Commerce or related discipline from a university recognized in Kenya.
A Master’s degree or additional studies in Development or Human Rights will be an added advantage.

Experience

Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in Human Rights

Job Purpose
This position is responsible for supporting the Intersex Persons Implementation Coordination Committee (IPICC) in the coordination finance related accounting to strengthen the prioritized strategies and plans for the implementation of the recommendations of the task force on policy, legal, institutional and administrative reforms regarding Intersex Persons in Kenya. The position also... supports provision of accounting support to the Finance and Accounts Division in the preparation of the various finance reports, accounts and reconciliation in compliance with Public Finance Accounts Standards and the achievements of objectives of the Finance and Accounts Division.
Duties and Responsibilities

Support tracking of the accounts and utilization of the IPICC grant and relevant reporting.
Prepare suppliers payment vouchers and forward them for approval to prompt timely pay outs on good and services consumed by the commission
Maintain an updated creditors’ schedule and supplier database to stay ahead of outstanding debts payable to the commission vendors
Key in expenses against the specific budget lines to keep track of fund balances to avoid over expenditure on approved budgets
Carry out bank agent duties inclusive of cash withdrawals, negotiation for better exchange rates, request for bank statements and other such assignments to support the commission’s transactions
Liaise with regional officers to provide technical support on accounts and finance to mitigate audit queries and mishaps that can interrupt the field office functions
Verify the suppliers’ payment documentation for completeness, accuracy and authorization to ascertain payouts at are made to authentic parties and not to fraudulent schemers
Process field imprest requests, ensuring that they are paid on time to keep regional office operations fully functional in their execution of the commission’s mandate
Invoice approved vouchers in the IFMIS system as a necessary step in accounting using the newly established government finance tracking platform
File Accounting documents to keep accurate records as necessitated by the Public Accounting practices
Post tax returns in iTax system to meet the current Kenya Revenue Authority tax guideline.

Requirements

Higher Diploma in Finance/ Accounts or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
Part I of Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A) (K) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
1 year of service in a comparable position from a reputable organization.
Knowledge of professional accounting standards including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Knowledge of accounting packages.
