  • True, only psychiatrists can write prescriptions. The role of the clinical psychologist is also key as they provide a safe space for the... client/victims to engage in therapy. It is quite beneficial when both psychiatrists and psychologists work hand in hand to treat them. more

  • These victims often face severe emotional, psychological, and physical trauma. The psychologist provides a safe space, clinical expertise, and... therapeutic support to help them process the trauma, building trust, and regain a sense of control over their lives. more

  • Wasilah! Thanks for your question mate.
I'll tell you straight, firstly someone who's mostly miserable, uninterested and demotivated in the work. If... they're volatile - showing emotional dysregulation- ie getting angry or irritable or upset at something less than warranted - ie
"Hey Jared! Second time you're late this week, everything ok?"
"STOP SHOUTING AT ME YOU BULLY!!!" [runs off to the toilets wailing]
Often a person's sleep goes to hell, while depressed - so check for black rings, sleeping on the job etc.
This is linked to no energy, sluggishness, and being foggy minded - ie can't focus.
Some clients report they literally can't read anymore while like this.
This person is very likely to withdraw from any social meetups, partially due to anxiety, feeling useless and wanting to hide these symptoms.
Finally, check for over eating/under eating, boozing/drugs [escapism].

    Hope that brain dump helps!

  • Cant we form a platform on different social media platforms n create awareness about Mental Health and still learn more about it

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS
Most people like you and me with kindred minds do not take this problem with a lot of seriousness in our community until it happens to me or its too late. In our societies, most of us see it a a curse or a bad omen especially when one commits suicide. The deceased doesn’t not even get to be buried in their rightful place; be it where she got married or her birthplace... because it is known to bring a curse to that family but how many families do they go back and wonder what really caused this in the first place and take action?
When we asunder apart either in any of situations in life or between blood lines,it gives us an inward pain that no one talks about or wants to share is the main cause of mental health. That sympathizing tear that you give to the family of the deceased or the sick,as a human, one should ask oneself how are you changing or impacting on people’s lives. Do you see the other person whom you are causing indirectly or directly depression or anxiety or any other disorder as someone’s daughter or son and to top it all that person was created by God as His own image?
When one starts to show signs of any disorders of mental illness usually that person undergoes some toil of pain that brings a slow disconnection to the real life. One starts to skips meals in the sense of cutting weight yet the person is stressed. One can also start to loose sleep, watching movies until midnight and sleeps for 3hours,not working out in the name of ‘I do very hard handy job’ such as working at the shamba. What happens next is taking sleeping pills or buying appetite drugs or start truanting your place of work or even in school. This person is struggling inside out to find help but doesn’t shout for it but the signs already tells us. Depression is the cancer of the mind that kills softly with notice but refuse to shout to see it.
Before our Father’s throne, usually we pour our ardent prayers, our fears, our hopes, our aims are usually one but in different words and language, our soreness and our cares but we forget to be human for just one second or minute when we meet someone with such and cease to care. We can even take a whole hour speaking to Our Father in heaven but we can’t give even a second to the one who needs as by that time.
We as humans in expectation lives and longs to see that day from sorrow, drudgery and pain to perfect imperfection love and friendship reigning through all eternity need to start shouting of the inward pain and to start to love the neighbor as thy self by going an extra mile to scream for that person help before its too late and that's what I call a sympathizing tear. If you are either a boss one way or another or a leader even in our homes, needs to be each others keeper in this world. I do not need to know you or where you come from in order to help you or love you from afar because at the end of it all,we will go back to the ONE and ONLY who loved us first even before our births. Remember we need to rule over our inward pains and emotions whom its medicine is time. A calm mind can handle any situation.
