"The social worker demonstrates strong interpersonal, communication, and counselling skills when engaging with learners, parents, educators, and other stakeholders. She provides emotional and psychosocial support to learners experiencing personal, family, behavioural, and social challenges and is able to create a safe and supportive environment for learners to discuss their concerns. She is able to assess learner needs, provide appropriate interventions, maintain case records, and make referrals to relevant professional services where necessary. She also demonstrates the ability to respond to crisis situations, assist with conflict resolution, and support learners experiencing behavioural or emotional difficulties.

The social worker works well with the school’s support structures and collaborates with the Discipline Office, teachers, management, parents, and external service providers. She demonstrates professionalism, empathy, confidentiality, and respect when dealing with sensitive matters. Her ability to engage parents and provide guidance contributes positively to learner support. She also assists with preventative and developmental programmes addressing issues such as bullying, substance abuse, emotional wellbeing, relationships, and responsible decision-making. Overall, her performance contributes to the psychosocial wellbeing and holistic development of learners and supports the school in addressing learner needs effectively."
