About

I am an Assistant Professor of Social Anthropology at the University of Gondar, holding a PhD in Social Anthropology. My doctoral research explored the socio-cultural context of tuberculosis, focusing on how local beliefs, practices, and indigenous knowledge influence health behaviors and treatment-seeking patterns. I apply my expertise in medical anthropology and global health to examine the socio-cultural dimensions of infectious diseases, with a particular interest in integrating indigenous knowledge into public health research and interventions. I am skilled in qualitative research methods, including ethnography and in-depth interviews, and proficient in software tools such as MAXQDA for qualitative data analysis. I am passionate about bridging academic research and practical solutions to support culturally sensitive, community-centered strategies in global health.
