YENNI CABRERA

"I had the opportunity to get to know Yenni Cabrera as a friend personally and as a life producer professionally. I first met Yenni Cabrera through a summer retreat at Pennsylvania in July 2018. Since then, we have been in contract as friends through zoom, emails, and via text over the years.
She is woman with many aspirations despite of multiple setbacks in her life. In moments of her vulnerability during these setbacks, she has never allowed them to stop her from being herself. She uses these setbacks to self-reflect so that she can do better and lean how to do things in a new way for the future, so things would not repeat themselves. Thus, she is a person who continuously strives to grow, and I believe that it is an essential quality to have in this field.
She is a bilingual Dominican, and she aspires to be a great representation of her community wherever she goes. Because she was raised from a Dominican household in NY, she has the open-mindedness to absorb information from difference sources regardless of it goes against the beliefs, culture that she grew up in that it’ll benefit her. Even though she takes pride in her culture, she also knows the limitations that her culture brings and understands at which aspect where it needs to do better. Thus, she uses what she learns from education in America such as the value of validating feelings and different opinions, empathy, speaking confidently instead of passively, and the value of being present to herself and those around her.
Despite of already knowing her as a friend, she was able to separate herself from Yenni that I know personally and Yenni as a life producer. As a life producer, she had great communication skills by constantly notifying me the updates of my application, setting zoom meetings with other life producers, and guiding me to complete the application process. She was quick to act when the process starts to get slow due to unforeseen events.
For all the traits and qualities that she has shown to me over the years, I recommend Yenni Cabrera for this position .
