William Peter Oyath Awinjack is an academic researcher, political and economic analyst from South Sudan, currently serving as the Executive Director of Afaq Center for Policy Studies. He possesses extensive experience in governance, strategic research, and public policy analysis, combining academic excellence with practical leadership in governmental institutions and research centers. He holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from Alazaiem Alazhari University (2017–2019) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Al Neelain University (2007–2011), where all his formal education was conducted in Arabic. Throughout his career, he has held key positions, including Secretary at the Ministry of Mining (2016–2020), Executive Director of Al-Amal Center for Strategic Studies (2022), and staff member at the Office of the Vice President for the Infrastructure Cluster (2021). He continues to work actively in journalism and research, having previously served as a researcher and journalist in leading academic and media institutions, including the University of Khartoum, Ajras Alhuria Newspaper, and 9 July Newspaper. He is also a trainer in youth development and leadership, and served as the Acting Secretary-General of the National Youth Union of South Sudan in the previous term, contributing to programs that strengthen youth leadership and civic engagement. His research interests focus on economic development, governance, political transitions, and regional security dynamics in the Horn of Africa. He is recognized for his analytical insight, effective communication skills, and contributions to policy discussions through research papers and media commentary. He is proficient in Arabic, the language of his formal education, and skilled in English, with strong abilities in research, policy writing, strategic communication, leadership, and analytical problem-solving.
