"I have had the pleasure to know Vernon Reid for over 50 years. While we have been known of each other for the entire time, it has been since the early 1990’s that we have been in close constant contact. Vernon has always been close to those he started the US Naval Academy, but since the 90’s, he’s assisted those classmates and others in reunions and get-togethers. Early on he made his own home available, and as the group grew Vernon assisted in getting additional space for the group to meet. His kindness and thoughtfulness has also been extended to the youth in the city of Baltimore. I consider him one of the finest men I have ever met."

"I strongly endorse Vernon Reid.
Vernon is highly motivated, successful leader, who overcame the mean Baltimore streets we grew up on. Through faith and a zeal to never allow our circumstances to rob us of getting where our talents would take us, we both chose the United States Naval Academy as our initial succes path. I stayed, but Verson chose another success path as a finance executive leading him back to Baltimore. Vernon never forgot where we came from. He continues to use his successful finance career and leadership skills to give back to Baltimore. Through giving of his time and resources, Vernon is still providing young men and women from Baltimore a glimse at what they too can accomplish through his wonderful example. Even in retirement Vernon is still widening the success paths for future generations of young Baltimoreans - Bravo Zulu Vernon!!!! Thanks for supporting my efforts at the Naval Academy to make inner city young people fully aware of the success path we used to overcome the mean streets of Baltimore!!!! God Bless!!!!
