As a voice instructor he helped Alfredo find his voice before, during and after puberty. He helped him gain control and extend his range where he can sing as a baritone and also as a tenor.

As a role model, he embodies the joy for work. Ty always puts 100% effort behind anything he does, which leads his students to do the same. He sets the example for them.

As a mentor, he helped Alfredo decide whether to pursue a minor or major in music, ultimately resulting in a substantial scholarship for a music vocal performance major at Southern Methodist University.
