  • I quit because my company started monitoring keystrokes and screenshots. My friends think I overreacted. Was that a reasonable red line?

    If you were/are able to find a new and better job, I would agree that this is not the best workplace...for anyone. If they suspect you are spending... too much time on the internet for personal things, they can restrict the sites workers can visit or eliminate the access to google etc altogether. That could also mean that your work is uninteresting and doesn't keep your interest, in which case it is time for you to look for something that challenges and pleases you. If ANYone actually has the time to monitor someone else's keystrokes and screen activity, they do not have enough important work to do and therefore their job could be eliminated. Of course, now they can set up AI to monitor all sorts of things, which isn't necessarily a good thing in this world of a growing BIG Brother presence....
