verview: In response to the Uganda government’s Anti-Homosexuality Act of 2023, which criminalizes being gay, The Diamond Mine Academy has launched a micro-funding initiative to empower vulnerable and marginalized East African individuals.
As the Lead of this initiative, I will support efforts to provide financial independence through micro-funding, mentoring, and training, enabling those impacted by this inhumane act to develop the skills needed for success.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the development and implementation of the micro-funding initiative.
Identify and engage with vulnerable individuals and communities in need of financial support.
Facilitate access to micro-grants and ensure funds are allocated effectively.
Provide mentorship and training to beneficiaries, helping them develop sustainable income streams.
Collaborate with stakeholders to expand the reach and impact of the initiative.
Monitor and report on the progress and outcomes of funded projects.
Objective: To create a network of financially independent, empowered individuals who can thrive despite the challenges posed by the Anti-Homosexuality Act, ultimately contributing to a safer and more supportive environment for all marginalized East Africans.
