About

I aim to connect marginalized communities through art and education. I am a published poet as well as formally trained writing tutor in both academic and creative writing. I have experience in coordinating community-based events with both grassroots organizations and historic institutions such as City Lights in San Francisco. I value the importance in connecting communities through the arts such as music, poetry, and visual art galleries. Aside from working at and hosting a reading series with City Lights, I have hosted and curated events and workshops with the bookstore Medicine for Nightmares in San Francisco and East Side Arts Alliance in Oakland. I have experience at the DIY level as well: hosting various pop-up events in public spaces such as parks, tunnels, and people’s backyards. I have public speaking experience as a poet and have been invited to speak with students at CalPoly Pomona and CSUN. I have performed my work in cities throughout California for events like LitHop in Fresno, Voices of California 2023 in Sacramento, the Viva reading series with San Francisco Public Library, Queer Writers Festival at Beyond Baroque in Venice, the Monterey Poetry Festival and so on.
