I have been working in Local NGOs since 2012 in a number of projects focusing on community development, HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support, economic empowerment for marginalized section of the community, capacity building for community based organizations etc. Since 2016 I joined international labor union movement as country project coordinator for IndustriALL Global Union later on since 2020 joined International Transport Workers Federation (ITF) as regional project coordinator targeting six African countries. I have diverse experience in the areas of project management, communication, campaigning and advocacy and policy dialogue involving key stakeholders in the areas of living wage/minimum wage, strengthening social dialogue, work place gender based violence etc. In addition to these, I have run and led ranges of capacity building workshops for partners and member unions, consultative meetings, seminars on strengthening social dialogue, workplace conflict handling and resolving mechanisms, union leadership, collective bargaining and agreement, occupational health and safety, organizing drives and campaigning’s, empowering women shops stewards at work place and at various level etc. As project coordinator, I have initiated and run higher level dialogue on key issues of national level like minimum wage, women workers’ issues, the right to organize workers at Industrial Parks and Industrial Zones with key partners like the Germen based organization; Fredric Ebert Stiftang Ethiopian country office. Furthermore, I have participated in a number of researches related with women workers, Occupational health and safety, workers’ rights in general etc in the textile and garment, public transport sectors. I have traveled regionally and internationally and actively engaged, participated and served as voice for workers in various regional executive meetings, international policy dialogue forums, workshops while I was working for IndustriALL Global Union and ITF.
