About

Sherif, Abu-sufian, is an experienced community developer who for the past 5 years and more has been working with rural communities in the Northern part of Ghana to help empower women, youth, smallholder farmers, and the less privileged in these communities. He also facilitates to mitigation of gender issues by introducing communities and their members to gender sensitives initiatives like gender model families, gender equality champions, and gender progress markers to assess and measure advancements in gender equality and women's empowerment. Sherif, Abu-sufian has also facilitated and trained smallholder farmers in these communities on good agronomic practices (GAPs) and climate-smart agricultural practices to help build resilience towards the impacts of climate change. Sherif, Abu-sufian is also certified by Portillo Consulting International as an Instructional Design and Adult learning facilitator, and VSL associates as a Savings and Loans Group formation facilitator. Finally, He is also a certified user of the SAVIX Management Information System; a system mainly designed to monitor the progress of savings and loans groups globally. Sherif, Abu-sufian is as well an enthusiastic researcher who focuses on SDGs 2 and 13; zero hunger and mitigation of the impacts of climate change. As such, He is one of the two representatives of the Northern region to attend the Cadre Harmonise 3.0 Level 1 training; a seminar geared toward gathering, assessing, and analyzing food security situations in West Africa. He has also conducted academic research to evaluate 1. the impact environmental quality, climate change, and economic growth have on Ghana’s food security situation and 2. the effect of Islamic impact investment on affordable housing in both Ghana and Nigeria. Thus, Sherif Abu-sufian identifies himself as a global change agent and an advocate for SDGs 2 and 13.
