We went to high school together, so I've watched him lead in a lot of different contexts over the years — but training with him showed me a side of him I hadn't fully appreciated. Sam knows his stuff. Running, general conditioning, programming that actually fits your life — he understands the mechanics behind what he's asking you to do, and he can explain it in a way that makes sense.

What sets him apart, though, is his patience. He never made me feel behind or out of place, and he never rushed me through progressions I wasn't ready for. He met me where I was and built from there. Ten pounds down, and more importantly, I understood why the plan worked — which is what makes it stick.

He's also just a genuinely cheerful person to be around. On the days when showing up was the hardest part, his energy carried the session. That's not a small thing.

Sam leads the same way he coaches: he pays attention, he's consistent, and people trust him. If you're looking for someone who'll actually invest in your progress rather than just count your reps, he's your guy.
