  • I was tasked with a group of 30 cohorts under my supervisory role in the first group of Chania in Ngoingwa Estate, Thika West Sub County to carry out environmental sanitation in tasks not limited to bush , drainage and path clearing, fumigation and garbage collection. I operated the group on a 2 shift basis where I worked under the Assistant Chiefs Office. On a weekly basis I would clock in and out cohorts on the National Hygiene Program Android Application and send reports via visual media and messaging. I would also take and forward any conflicts and grievances that came with any assignments. I also took orders and give instructions whenever communicated, engage in decision making and facilitation to ensure that the governmental initiative was covered successfully.
  • This assignment provided me the opportunity to develop my communication and interpersonal skills in the time of the corona virus pandemic. Working with mostly youth, women and persons with disabilities and also the local community in matters that pertain general hygiene, sanitation and even security of our locality’s outlook.
