  • As the Project Planning and Training Specialist for the SSF Support Project, I led strategic planning and execution, assisting the project manager in outlining project scope, objectives, and deliverables. I designed comprehensive project plans, managed human resource allocations, and conducted rigorous evaluations. My efforts strengthened the institutional capacity of the Somalia Security Forces in IED threat Mitigation, the Federal Government of Somalia, and its Federal Member States. I also contributed to resource mobilization, concept note development, proposal writing, fundraising, donor engagement, and strategic partnerships.

  • Successfully organised and facilitated the SNA and SPF EOD Strategic planning workshop 2024

  • I supported the Project Manager and the Operations Officer in advising the Sector Commander on Explosive hazard threat mitigation in the sector. This involved collecting data, analyzing data, providing training and mentoring support for AMISOM troops. I also conducted needs assessments, facilitated explosive hazard awareness courses, and assessed the availability of AMISOM EOD teams. I prepared route analysis, mapping, current IED threats, possible Vulnerable Areas, and vulnerable points. I also conducted visits and assessments in Forward Operating Bases, provided updated IED threat pictures, and prepared sector operations reports. As an OIC, I established strong relationships with AMISOM Commanders and stakeholders.

  • Successfully organized and facilitated the training and equipment of 15 EOD Teams.
  • Successfully organized and facilitated the training of EORE Training of Trainers
  • Facilitated the recovery and repair of 7 Mine Protected Vehicles valued at $ 2.1m
  • Reduced explosive risk by conducting over 5 successful bulk demolitions of over 1500 UXOs and 700kg of explosive material

I implemented strategic learning initiatives, leadership programs, and technical support for organizational development. I designed an e-Learning portal, e-Recruitment system, and a Performance Management System to improve organizational effectiveness and employee relations. I led staff interviews, developed regional plans, and coordinated recruitment. I also designed and delivered people and organizational development strategies, supported change initiatives, and worked with line managers on personal development plans and secondment schemes
  • Key Accomplishments:
  • Successfully led the restructure and recruitment of over 800 Project staff in 2017
  • Conducted an employee engagement survey and Salary survey to align the pay structure and engagement levels
