About

As a seasoned professional with 16+ years of experience in program management, policy advocacy, and strategic leadership, I currently serve as the Head of Programmes Development and Quality (HoPDQ) at Plan International Sierra Leone. In this role, I provide strategic oversight and operational leadership for the design, implementation, and evaluation of gender-transformative programs, child sponsorship initiatives, and influencing strategies. My work ensures alignment with Plan International’s global objectives and advances children’s rights and gender equality within Sierra Leone’s local context. I lead a team of eight specialists, guiding them in technical leadership, program coordination, and management while embedding global policies on quality programming, gender equality, child protection, and inclusion. I am instrumental in shaping country program strategies, mainstreaming gender equality into project designs, and fostering impactful partnerships. My efforts also include developing tools to strengthen partner capacities and ensuring their alignment with organizational standards. My expertise extends to monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning (MERL), where I provide technical leadership to track program performance and outcomes effectively. Staff development is also a key focus, ensuring my team has clear performance indicators and the capacity to achieve results. Previously, I served as a Technical and Programme Coordinator for UNFPA’s Sub-Regional Office in the Caribbean. There, I managed sustainable development programs, data monitoring, and quality assurance while advancing the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) agenda. I have demonstrated success in building partnerships, mobilizing resources, and implementing evidence-based interventions across sectors such as health, education, gender, and disability inclusion. With multiple degrees and certifications in Public Health, Public Policy, Project and Programme management, and leadership, I am committed to leveraging data-driven strategies to improve lives and champion equality for marginalized populations.
