  • At Todina Enterprises Ltd, I conducted quality control tests on raw and processed milk, including alcohol, clot-on-boiling, density, and antibiotic residue assessments. I monitored hygiene standards across the production floor and implemented HACCP principles to ensure food safety and compliance with KDB and KEBS standards. I supervised milk processing workflows for yogurt, mala, and pasteurized milk, and trained staff on container sanitation and hygiene protocols. I also coordinated dispatch activities, tracked cold storage inventory, and maintained accurate records using Excel, Google Sheets, and Access. Additionally, I prepared and processed internal payment vouchers via TendePay and supported employee documentation and onboarding processes. My role involved both technical oversight and administrative support, contributing to a 23.7% reduction in post-harvest losses through improved quality practices.

  • At KALRO, I supported multi-disciplinary research across pharmacology, microbiology, and molecular biology labs. I handled experimental animals, prepared and analyzed wet and dry smears for trypanosome quantification, and administered veterinary drug dosages. I conducted ELISA tests, operated lab equipment including centrifuges and pH meters, and sterilized materials for safe lab use. In the microbiology lab, I diagnosed bacterial infections, performed Gram staining, and cultured various microbes. In the molecular lab, I extracted, purified, and amplified DNA using PCR, and ran gel electrophoresis for DNA visualization. Additionally, I assisted with sexing and feeding tsetse flies in entomological studies and monitored parasite development. Throughout, I documented procedures and ensured lab safety protocols were followed.
