The humanitarian crisis in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo: Call for help for vulnerable populations.

The youth parliament of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Goma office, through Mr. Nzanzu Mulimirwa Philemon, president of the youth parliament in the municipality of Goma, appeals to all people (physical or moral) of good will, humanitarian and charitable organizations to come to the aid of... the thousands of children, young girls and women including young boys who are going through difficult times and inhumane conditions in Goma - DR CONGO.

These people (children and young people) displaced by violence are seriously suffering by one of the most neglected crises in the world.

According to the international organization for migration,
in October last year, 6.9 million people were displaced across the DRC. In North Kivu province alone, 1.77 million people were displaced by attacks by the M23 rebel group at the end of May, a 16% increase since the previous report.

The humanitarian situation is dire. Armed groups continue to exacerbate violence, causing massive displacement in an already fragile context.

Earlier this month, 42 people were massacred in Lubero territory and, in recent days, the strategically located town of Kanyabayonga was reportedly taken over. In Goma, the socio-economic situation is rapidly deteriorating, with the town remaining isolated from supply routes. Despite efforts to reduce crime, youth and children – including many displaced people – are subject to theft, burglary, abuse and harassment.

Last time the youth parliament distributed some food and non-food items to vulnerable populations, especially children and young girls in the KANYARUSHINYA site in Goma. But the situation continues to deteriorate every day.
This is why we continue to call on anyone of good will to send us everything you have to try to give hope to all these children and young people who are suffering in the displaced persons camps. These children and young people did not want to find themselves in this situation, we believe that love is at the center of all, let us love each other alive and create peace. Let us create a world where everyone can live and realize their dreams.
