I am a Project Management professional with over 10 years of experience developing, implementing, managing, monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on community development projects in Uganda. I have worked closely with various stakeholders in Central and Western Uganda, taking on different roles including advocacy, research, community mobilization, capacity building, publicity, and stakeholder management. My goal is to contribute to the sustainable growth and development of communities in Uganda.

Work experience
  • In this role, my main responsibility is stakeholder mobilization and engagement geared towards enhancing the accountability of duty bearers and responsiveness of citizens towards the safety of communities.
  •  Successfully mobilized and onboarded leaders in the Albertine region for road safety programs in Schools and communities. I leveraged relationships with key leaders to get buy-in and commitment to support the implementation of the projects. Key among the leaders engaged were Resident District Commissioners, District Community Development Officers, Chief Administrative Officers, LC V chairpersons, and District Education Officers.
  •  Trained 269 teachers from 138 primary and secondary schools in the Albertine region and Kampala city as Road Safety Trainers.
  •  Supported the Ministry of Works, Transport, and Uganda National Bureau of Standards to mobilize CSOs and private sector stakeholders to review the traffic regulations and the helmet standards. The regulations were consequently validated and gazetted
  •  Mobilized and facilitated road safety awareness campaigns in the Kampala metropolitan region attracting over 1000 riders from the five (5) divisions in Kampala.

  • Provided support in the overall planning and implementation of CRED’s projects on land rights delivery, and sustainable resource governance.
  •  Supported the Executive Director and Finance Officer in resource mobilization, conceptualizing and planning for the program team, developing fundable proposals, and ensuring that the program adheres to the highest transparency, accountability, compliance, and financial integrity standards.
  •  Developed (5) funding proposals that addressed land rights issues in vulnerable communities in central and western Uganda.
  •  As a Gender Focal Point, I integrated gender equality, women empowerment, and youth involvement in project design and implementation.
  •  Oversaw the design, implementation, and monitoring of the gender action plans at CRED over a three-year phase.
  •  Managed all CRED’s communication including developing spot messages and themes for media campaigns and managed digital content for the organization’s website and social media pages.
  •  Organized land awareness campaigns to sensitize local communities about their land rights and processes to acquire land titles. A total of 30,000 men and women were reached through the interventions
  •  Prepared annual and quarterly work plans ensuring alignment of the program’s activities and budgets to the CRED’s strategic plan priorities and provided support in assessing trends and systematic changes relevant to women's empowerment, access to justice especially in the face of displacement and resettlement in the Albertine oil-rich region.
  •  Supervised other program officers and project interns to ensure cross-learning, integrated implementation of CRED’s projects.
  •  Co-led the development of internal and external programs and donor reports respectively.
  •  Led all CRED’s research including on gender-based concerns in access to and
  •  ownership of land and natural resources in the Albertine graben of Uganda through research, analysis, and documentation, providing support in the development and review of concept notes and policy briefs.
  •  Supported in the development of the gender policy for CRED and in the review of strategic plans.
  •  Coordinated and nurtured a community of over 800 paralegals and community liaison officers in five districts with a view to building and strengthening community leaders who would sustain CRED’s advocacy initiatives beyond CRED’s existence.
  •  Facilitated and conducted over 45 mediation sessions and monitored human rights issues in five (5) districts in the Albertine region. Resultants, 100 land disputes were successfully mediated, and human rights concerns were tabled to relevant duty bearers for redress.
  •  Maintained CRED’s external relationship with key stakeholders including development partners, local government officials, oil company staff, paralegals, and community representatives within four districts of CRED’s coverage. The organization received awards for outstanding performance from the Ministry of Lands and Mineral Development and Buliisa District Local Government.
  •  Mobilised 15 villages in Buliisa District to register their communal lands seeking out the interest of women who mostly utilise the land for food production. The Ministry of Lands issued the communities certificates of registration that give them security and legitimacy over their land.
