My name is Michael Mosteller II and I am running for House of Delegates in West Virginia’s 21st District which includes Hurricane and Culloden. I am a proud Progressive, and I am so angry with our legislature that I decided to run. Back in 2014 when we had the MCHM chemical spill into our drinking water system, I was frustrated that nothing was being done. I wrote a bill that included tank inspections, retention barriers in the event of a spill, and steep financial and even criminal penalties for negligence. I gave this bill to my legislator, and it was passed and was known as the Above Ground Storage Tank Act. This legislature repealed that law recently. I am a Progressive Democrat, and I am upset that our party abandoned us. That is why we are going to change the party from within. We are going to root out corrupt and corporate Democrats. We refused to take money from corporate interests. We will not rule from the top down, we will be your voice in government. We have lost so much funding for infrastructure that our roads are crumbling. We have a legislature that is hostile towards our educators and the public school system. We are tired of corrupt backroom deals taking place where the politicians get rich by putting things like data centers in our backyards with no oversight, and a promise that they will pay no taxes. More of the same: Our state has been raped and pillaged, the people have been used and abused, and economic justice is long overdue and is exactly what we need to fix this once great state. Send us to the legislature, and we will take our state from almost dead last in all of the categories that matter, such as infrastructure, education, etc., and move it way up on that list.
