Marshall Davies

Marshall Davies is an incredible musician. There is nothing he can’t do on the piano. He excels as both a soloist and an accompanist. He plays... classical, jazz, any style he wants. He can sight read anything and also improvs. I have had the privilege of having him as the accompanist for our church choir, as well as collaborating with him on a few small projects. My favorite experience with Marshall was when our choir sang “Master, the Tempest is Raging.” I had only the 4 part arrangement from our hymnal and couldn’t find another arrangement of it anywhere, so I told Marshall my vision for it. I wanted an accompaniment that sounded like a storm for the first verse, in the minor key for the second verse, and sounded peaceful for the third verse. He created it on the spot. He added some interlude between the verses to make the key changes work, and even made the accompaniment so it could lead the choir in with their note in a certain spot. Just like that, we had a masterpiece that was uniquely ours, and it was only possible because of the skill set that Marshall possesses. I can’t say enough about Marshall’s musical genius. He is truly a top notch musician, and I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to make music with him. more
