"I hired Mark Krawczyk in the spring of 2024 to join my secondary students as a guest artist. The work that came out of those sessions was nothing short of transformative for those young artists. In my Advanced classes, students worked with Mark on devised theatre practices. The work was developmentally appropriate, tailored precisely to the needs of my ensemble, and broke students out of their established habits and patterns while reinforcing their value/values and celebrating the individuality they brought to the process. The performance pieces created during the residency were among the students' favorite work of the year and they chose to end their year end showcase with them. In Mark's capable hands, this group opened themselves to experimental and devised theatre and reaped huge rewards, both artistic and personal.

My beginning students worked with Mark in a more traditional, master class capacity. He joined us during the scene study unit and offered working assessment sessions in front of our full group. The level of theatrical expertise and performing ability that Mark brings with him is unmatched, regardless of genre. I knew this when I hired him. What was so lovely to watch in practice was his skill as an educator. He demonstrated the ability to take his expertise and bring its expression to a place that was not only developmentally appropriate for beginner students, but which was also disarmingly friendly and enthusiastic. This ability to engage all types of students and get them to bring down their guard so that they could play, investigate text, and make discoveries in the work was beautiful to see. Students benefited greatly from the work onstage and in observation of his methods. He has my full throated recommendation, and we hope to bring him back to our program."
