"should I have kept it to myself?" so you can disclose or withhold information in future employment settings, then your question is useful. At this point, I think focusing on damage control is a better use of your time. If completing the new, more demanding workload, even with the use of AI, is unsustainable, then perhaps you should discuss reasonable workloads and outputs with your manager. Use chat evidence or documentation when you present your case, though. Don't just go in with "I feel," or "I think." Demonstrate how you use AI by producing a copy of the chat detail to show the work AI helped with, and if possible, show how AI is unable to do everything you need to accomplish, even with thoughtful and strategic inputs.
