I am a research and development chemist and a WASH enthusiast. I have six years of experience in chemistry research and knowledge management to enable sustainable development. In the WASH sector, I specialise in capacity building for WASH resilience and strengthening positive WASH tendencies and capacities in schools and peri-urban communities. I work with women in peri-urban areas to improve livelihoods by using a WASH business model to improve nutrition in their homes while building capacities for positive WASH tendencies.

  • 1. RESOURCE MOBILISATION
  •  Wrote grant proposals and secures funding for various projects.
  •  Currently setting up a rain-water harvesting system at Chakunkula combined school, to assist pupils with WASH management in the dry season (August -- November) with resources from the Swiss water partnership youth. This system is meant to mitigate the negative effects of climate change, i.e, droughts
  •  Secured funds to begin the toilet-making the grade (TMG) project that was developed with German toilet organisation and GIZ. The TMG project’s aim is to create adaptive capacities in schools and communities to enhance positive WASH behaviour and leverage the power of co-creation to build capacity for resilient and sustainable WASH.
  • 2.. STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT
  •  Engaging with diverse stakeholders to discuss projects and foster conceptualization, and collaboration.
  •  Part of a team of stakeholders validating the five year strategy for LuWSI.
  •  Consulted with the Ministry of Water engineers on what standards and procedures to follow when designing the rainwater harvesting system.
  •  Wrote a letter to the Lusaka City Council to convince various stakeholders to donate materials for the rainwater harvesting system at Chakunkula Combined School.
  • resulted in various stakeholders donating items and offering expertise on best practices/methods for developing the rainwater harvesting system.
  • resulted in a pledge of donations of items worth over K24,000 by MICMAR
  •  Consulted with the School health and nutrition(SHN) director at the ministry of education on how best WASAReC can position itself to improve WASH in schools.
  •  Consulted with Chilenje B combined school on their WASH challenges and had an engineer do a WASH needs assessment in order to determine how best to solve WASH challenges at the school.
  •  Leverage partnerships on the LuWSI platform to create adaptive and mitigation capacities for climate change through financing.
  • COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
  • Developed relations with lactating mothers attending under five clinics in George compound to set a coordinated plan for WASH promotion and capacity building in the women.
  •  Influenced and coined the “WASH ‘n’ THRIVE” project in partnership with Human Rights and Science to give low-interest loans to women identified in George compound to improve WASH behaviour and nutrition in their households.
  • SUPERVISION OF ALL PROJECTS ACROSS TIMELINES
