About

My name is Klay A. Weaver (he/him), and I’m the founder of Black Seahorse LLC — a business I built from the ground up through hard work, skill, and community focus. I’ve spent over ten years in property maintenance and management, learning every side of the field from turn tech to maintenance coordinator. I started out doing unit turns and trained myself to complete them solo in under a week. That drive to grow opened doors for me to explore leasing and property management, where I learned how to merge customer service, leadership, and operations. My time working in communities like London Oaks in Portsmouth, VA helped me find my “why” — using my work to help build up the same neighborhoods that built me. Through my fellowship with Outvote, I created Ligne Dance 4 UR Lyfe, a movement that promotes wellness, connection, and community. These days, I still take on maintenance projects when I can, but my focus is on using my skills and business to create safe, sustainable spaces for youth and families in my community.
