Kelebohile Mavuso is a Deaf educator, intersectionality advocate, disability advocate, social entrepreneur, and a young and emerging disability studies scholar from Lesotho. His work is rooted in advancing inclusive education, promoting sign language access, and challenging systemic barriers that affect Deaf people and others with disabilities. Having experienced hearing loss during his early schooling years, Mavuso’s lived experience has shaped his passion for advocacy and education. He has dedicated his career to creating inclusive learning environments and empowering Deaf learners through accessible communication and culturally responsive teaching approaches. As a social entrepreneur, he is actively involved in initiatives that promote sign language awareness, training, and community engagement. His advocacy is strongly informed by an intersectional lens, recognizing how disability intersects with identity, culture, language, and socio-economic realities. Mavuso is currently furthering his academic journey in Disability Studies, positioning himself as a young and emerging scholar committed to research, policy influence, and transformative change within the disability sector. His work continues to amplify marginalized voices and push for equitable access to education, employment, and social participation.
