Jonva—widely recognized as The Legend—is an American artist, musician, humanitarian, international music producer, mentor, and songwriter. A Berklee College of Music-Boston Masters scholar based in New York, he has built a distinguished career through his passion for music and dedication to artistic excellence. Jonva is also the host and executive producer of the acclaimed podcast LiveLifeBHappy/24/7, streaming worldwide on Amazon Music.
Jonva’s musical journey began at the age of two, shaping his lifelong commitment to his craft. He studied under world-class jazz pianist Alex Darqui, a bandmate of the legendary Jaco Pastorius and a protégé of Herbie Hancock. Over the years, Jonva has collaborated with musical greats such as Ben E. King, along with a diverse range of talented artists from around the world.
In 2022, Jonva debuted his EP Jonva Experience Project 2.0, a four-song release featuring artists from Shanghai, the United Kingdom, Amsterdam, and the United States. His most recent studio collaboration, Somedays, highlighted his skills as a co-producer alongside the Abbey Road Studios team, featuring UK artist Adam Wedd and Atlanta’s Aqthesinger.
Continuing his musical evolution, Jonva joined forces in 2023 with the multi-talented actress, writer, producer, and artist Caren Lyn Tackett—known for her work on Winx Club, Pokémon Chronicles, Shaman King, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, as well as multiple Broadway productions including Hair, Rent, High Fidelity, Brooklyn, and The Times They Are A-Changin’.
Further expanding his global reach, Jonva collaborated with UK indie artist and songwriter BBFEENIX, introducing their Quantum Music EP, Tomorrow’s Goodbye. This project pushed creative boundaries and redefined artistic expression. Adding yet another milestone to his career, Jonva teamed up with rising UK artist Craig Gallagher for the worldwide release of What Do You Want from Me.
As the host and producer of A Slice of Canada Radio, alongside his partner Wanda Ryan, Jonva continues to champion the revival of indie music by showcasing some of the most talented international artists from around the globe.
Now embarking on a fellowship with the Royal Society of Arts in London, Jonva is not only expanding his global footprint but also aligning his artistic endeavors with his humanitarian values.
