Jenn Autry

Work experience
  • Founder and manager of a small DIY harm reduction program that is tailored to the bay area goth community, but serves anyone and everyone. Grant writing, website design, using anonymous and HIPPA compliant techniques for our peer support number calls, and encrypted text messages. Educating folks on narcan, test strip instructions, drug checking and general harm reduction practices. Making stickers, flyers, business cards and other promotional material with photoshop and procreate. Tabling at live music events. Fundraising. Delivery services. Consulting services for other grassroot, DIY and underfunded programs. I am actively working towards building funding for a mobile Drug Checking service that can actively reach more folks in the bay area, certification from CDPH, and hopefully grants that provide a work pay for myself and 2 other employees, plus interested volunteers.

Work experience
  • Collecting data and conducting live surveys from the East bay's homeless and PWUD population, asking questions on overdose experiences, drug use, drug treatment facilities, health and well being etc. Providing a safe, non-judgmental space for marginalized people to talk about sensitive topics without the fear of stigma, providing referrals to other resources and services, paying cash for their time instead of gift cards. Storing data on encrypted servers for future research to provide better programs, services and funding for the PWUD population, using trauma-informed communicationand motivational interviewing practices to de-escalate tense situations, and using mandated reporting if the situation calls for that resource by calling a non-law enforcement mental health specialist emergency line.
