About

Jelena Jadzic, MD, PhD, is a postdoctoral research associate at the Center of Bone Biology and an assistant professor of human anatomy at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade. In 2022, she completed her PhD in Skeletal Biology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade. She has received several international research awards. Jelena has published over 25 papers in various high-impact peer-reviewed journals and participated in more than five scientific projects. She is a proud European Calcified Tissue Society (ECTS) and ECTS PhD Action group member. She is an active Early Career Researcher Board member of Bone Reports (Elsevier) and serves as a reviewer for numerous high-impact scientific journals. She has been engaged in the micro-scale assessment of bone alterations in aged patients with various comorbidities, with a particular accent on chronic liver diseases. Thus, her teaching activities are in skeletal biology, human anatomy, and biomedical engineering. At the same time, her research interests mainly include bone fragility, chronic liver disease, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and the use of novel techniques in bone research (for example, 3D printing and AI in bone diagnostic and therapeutic strategies).
