"I was Jarred M. Jupiter art instructor in 2005 at a summer art program for elementary school age children at St Marc’s community church in New Orleans. He was a 4th or 5th grader at that time who was reading books. He was very shy, reserved, but also very bright, and can keep a conversation about science, math, or literature at his level of studies. I was already impressed when seeing the great potentials of what will be happening once he become a man.
Fifteen years later, a toll man in a suit and tie, looking like a politician or a minister inboxed me on linkedin to say: “Mr. Vidho, please be my friend.” I messaged him back To say: “I am so sorry. Your face look very familiar but I cannot zoomed in where and how we met.”
Then he said: “This is me, Jarred, from St Marc’s summer camp.”
Since that time, I have been amazed by Jarred accomplishments becoming a school teacher.
I keep telling him he got the calm, the composure, and the charisma to become the Mayor of New Orleans. But teaching children is the greatest public servant work someone can intake in a life time.
